We love shaking jams into cocktails. Perhaps our favorite is a margarita made with Strawberry Chipotle Jam. It's fruity, tart, and finishes with a mild smoky spice. If strawberry isn’t your jam, try this technique with Raspberry Smoked Maple, Cucumber Jalapeno, or Pineapple Habanero for an extra kick. I make most of my cocktails in a mason jar because then you can drink right out of the shaker.
- 3 tbsp Potlicker Jam
- 2 oz tequila
- 3/4 oz triple sec
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- Splash of club soda (optional)
- Salt for the rim (smoked sea salt is awesome)
Add jam, tequila, triple sec and lime juice to the shaker or jar.
Fill with ice, cover, and shake your heart out for 30 seconds or until the jam has melted and the liquid is frothy.
Pour into a glass with a salted rim if desired. Top with club soda for a lighter drink. Garnish with a lime wedge or fresh strawberry.
